Instructions
- The grade level of students attending American Tamil Academy will be determined by their grade level in the academic year 2015-16. Principals of the schools will be contacted for confirmation.
- Contestants who do not attend ATA, please follow the age guidelines published.
- If any contestant wants to contest in a competition that is above their grade/age levels, please contact the Event Coordinator to discuss. Final decision will be taken by the coordinator.

NEOTS Members
- $5.00 for participating in one competition
- $10.00 for more than one competition
Non-Members
- $10.00 for participating in one competition
- $15.00 for more than one competition
தமிழ் வண்ணம்
(type: Coloring)
Description:
Each participant will be given a Tamil culture based picture for coloring.
Coloring supplies like pencils, and crayons will be provided at the event. However, we ask that you bring any supplies you can so your child can engage more and be more creative.
Who can participate?
Kids five and under are welcome to participate.
தமிழோவியம்
(type: Drawing)
Description:
Each participant will be asked to draw a picture (and color, if needed) based on a theme that will be given to them in the beginning of the competition.
Drawing supplies like pencils, and crayons will be provided at the event. However, we ask that you bring any supplies you can so your child can engage more and be more creative.
Who can participate?
Kids 10 and under but above 5 years of age (> 5 and <= 10) are welcome to participate.

(type: Rhyme Recitation)
Description:
Select a rhyme from the list provided below and come prepared to recite at the event.
Who can participate?
- For kids who attended tamil school during 2015-2016: Enrolled in mazhalai or pre-mazhalai during 2015-16.
- For kids who did not attend tamil school: kids five and under (<=5).

Description:

Who can participate?
- kids who attended tamil school during 2015-2016: Enrolled in LEvel 1 or LEvel 2 during 2015-16.
- For kids who did not attend tamil school: Kids aged six to eight (>= 6 and <= 8).

Description:
A story will be selected in a lucky draw and you will asked to read that story. Story will be chosen from the list provided in reference materials section.

- For kids who did not attend tamil school: Kids aged eight to ten (>= 8 and <= 10).

Description:
Select a topic from the list provided below and come prepared to speak about that topic at the event.

தமிழ்த் தேனீ
(type: Spelling Bee)
Description:
There will be two rounds: First round will be written round where 30 words will be dictated and contestants will write. The top 10 will move to the second round where they will have written round with 20 words from published list and 10 words from outside the list. In case of a tie for the final prize, a tie breaker round will be conducted.

- For kids who attended tamil school during 2015-2016: Enrolled in level 3 and above.
- For kids who did not attend tamil school: Kids aged eight and above (>=8).
