Instructions
- The grade level of students attending American Tamil Academy will be determined by their grade level in the academic year 2016-17. Principals of the schools will be contacted for confirmation.
- Contestants who do not attend ATA, please follow the age guidelines published.
- If any contestant wants to contest in a competition that is above their grade/age levels, please contact the Event Coordinator to discuss. Final decision will be taken by the coordinator.

- $5.00 for participating in one competition
- Additional $5.00 for each additional competition
Non-Members
- $10.00 for participating in one competition
- Additional $5.00 for each additional competition

(Contest Type: Coloring (Non-Competitive))
Description:
Each participant will be given a Tamil culture based picture for coloring.
Coloring supplies like pencils, and crayons will be provided at the event. However, we ask that you bring any supplies you can so your child can engage more and be more creative.
Who can participate?
Kids 4 years or below are welcome to participate.

Description:
Kids can recite a poem of their choice.

(Contest Type: Drawing)
Description:
Each participant will be asked to draw a picture (and color, if needed) based on a theme that will be given to them in the beginning of the competition.

5 to 8 Years old.

(Contest Type: Tamil Poems recital-1)
Description:
Preselected songs will be assigned to this context. Kids must come prepared to recite any one of the three songs.
Who can participate?
5 & 6 years old.

(Contest Type: Prose Reading contest-1)
Description:
Kids should come prepared with the below list of topics. They will be asked to read any one of the following topics.
Who can participate?
8 & 9 years old or 3rd grade kids who attended tamil school during 2016-2017.

(Contest Type: Prose Reading contest-2)
Description:
Three sets of prose/poem will be published at the contest.
Who can participate?
10 years old and above or 4th grade and above kids who attended tamil school during 2016-2017.
தமிழ்த் தேனீக்கள்- 1
(Contest Type: Spelling Bee- 1)
Description:
A set of words has been published in the below mentioned pdf. There will be two rounds: First round will be written round where 30 words will be dictated and contestants will write. The top 10 will move to the second round where they will have written round with 20 words from published list and 10 words from outside the list. In case of a tie for the final prize, a tie breaker round will be conducted.
Who can participate?
8 to 10 years old or 3rd grade & 4th grade kids who attended tamil school during 2016-2017.
